Maps and weather help you use your saved plan. They do not confirm addresses, transport availability or safe conditions.
For a direct journey between places, the trip map can use their linked city locations until you choose exact stops. These routes are labelled indicative; they do not confirm stations, services or timetables. Selecting a specific linked station takes precedence. Unlinked custom stops, airports and connections still need their own locations before their routes can be drawn.
Open a place or get directions
Beside an activity or stay, open Map & directions:
- View place in Google Maps opens the place without starting a route.
- Directions in Google Maps opens a route to the saved destination.
- Waze opens supported driving navigation or a place search.
- Copy address / place gives you text to use elsewhere.
Before your trip starts, Google directions use the previous night's accommodation as the starting point, falling back to that day's stay. The menu names the hotel. If neither has a usable location, place search and copying remain available.
From the first travel day onward, the navigation app uses your current location. This also applies when you are looking ahead to another day. Your phone or navigation app controls location access; plotpace.com does not collect that position.
Location needed means an editor needs to add a linked place or address. A city centre marker is not necessarily the entrance, station platform or coach pickup you need. Confirm the result in the external app.
Read the trip maps
The whole-trip map helps you understand the route. The Segments map focuses on linked itinerary places for that segment. Not every typed place name can be plotted; missing markers do not remove the activity from your plan.
Use the map's information controls for attribution and notices. After editing locations, use the available refresh action to update the saved map. If a map cannot load, the written itinerary remains available.
Understand weather labels
Average is typical weather for the saved place and period. It is useful for packing and broad expectations, not a prediction for a particular day.
Forecast is near-term weather when available. Day details uses a main destination summary, with extra summaries for activities whose weather differs meaningfully. Expand Weather for locations, sources, update details and missing coverage.
An excursion without its own weather is not silently given the destination's conditions. A failed refresh may leave older saved information visible. Check the dates and labels, and use current local forecasts for decisions during the trip.

Check a flight
Where live flight checking is available, an editor can enable it for a flight. Day details checks near-term flights while the page is open and visible. Last known means the result is stale.
Live results do not change your saved plan or send notifications. Confirm delays, terminals and disruptions with the airline.
