Open-Meteo weather data

Weather data is provided by Open-Meteo under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0).

plotpace.com uses the Open-Meteo Climate API to calculate averages from modelled data for the configured number of complete calendar years. We adapt this data into average low and high temperatures, trip temperature ranges and average condition indicators, and convert temperatures to your preferred units.

These seasonal summaries describe typical conditions, not a forecast for your travel dates. Day details also use the Open-Meteo Forecast API for near-term daily low and high temperatures and precipitation probability. We select the travel date, cache the response and convert temperatures to your preferred units. Forecasts can change. Open-Meteo does not endorse plotpace.com.

Meteostat weather data

Fallback data comes from Meteostat and its data providers, under CC BY 4.0. Station observations may include model data to fill gaps. We select nearby stations, calculate historical averages and convert temperatures to your preferred units. Snow cover indicates recorded snow depth, not daily snowfall. Station distance, source and years appear in weather tooltips.

Nearby station conditions can differ from your destination, especially in mountainous terrain. Meteostat and its data providers do not endorse plotpace.com.

Google Maps

Place lookup, trip maps and indicative route estimates use Google Maps Platform. Maps, including those in printed itineraries, retain Google's logo and data attribution. Use is subject to the Google Maps Additional Terms of Service.

Exchange rates

Reference exchange rates come through Frankfurter's v1 API, using European Central Bank reference data. Source: European Central Bank.

We apply the reference rate to your saved amount and round the displayed estimate. Converted values are planning estimates, not live quotes or the rate your bank or card provider will charge. Original amounts and currencies remain separate from these estimates.

Optional flight status

When configured, flight status is supplied by FlightAware AeroAPI. We match the saved flight and departure date, cache results briefly, and display available status and timing information. This does not change your saved flight times or rebook your travel.

FlightAware data is governed by the applicable AeroAPI agreement and FlightAware terms of use, not an open-data licence. Status can be delayed or unavailable; check with your airline or airport. No endorsement is implied.
